Join us for a river-journey down the Saryu & Mahakali Rivers up on the borders of India and Nepal. The Saryu River is the second-largest tributary of the mighty Mahakali River that demarcates the borders of the two countries. This section of river features the most significant migratory-runs of the Golden Himalayan Mahseer in Northern India – hence offering a superb blend of the very best of spinning as well as fly-fishing opportunities for these majestic fish. The Saryu is a fly-friendly river that is complimented by the migratory-runs of the Mahseer that come up from the Mahakali River, which offers massive natural habitat for these majestic fish, as it runs un-dammed for the most part – allowing its tributaries like the Saryu to produce well year-after-year. The Mahakali is a large glacial river that originates in China and offers forty miles of remote river-fishing opportunities for the Golden Himalayan Mahseer. In past years the Mahakali has produced some monsters and due its remote location it still continues to do so.

For the fly-angler, the Saryu River offers beautiful runs that are relatively easy to fish. It offers just the right volume for the use of both double as well as single-handed fly- rods. The Saryu rewards a variety of presentations that includes skated-dry-flies and crease-flies. In the warmer months the Golden Himalayan Mahseer take lures and flies in rapids – an exhilarating experience!
